Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX

As the weather has gotten warmer, I have had the need to use lighter skincare products which gives me hydration at the same time. I have started using the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX and found that it has been working for me. A sleeping pack is also called a sleeping mask, in which I usually put on one to three time a week (depending on my skin condition) after cleansing, applying toner and before going to sleep. It claims to provide intense hydration and brightening as one sleeps.

It comes in a lightly scented blue gel, and I usually take a coin sized amount and massage it onto my face. It gives a dewy finish and my skin feels hydrated and soft, the scent is also AMAZING. One bottle should last quite a long time, as I have already used this quite a few times, and as you can see, there is still a lot of product in the package.

This is how it looks like when i applied it to my hand. It gives a nice dewy, healthy glow. Usually when I wake up, my skin is also brighter than the night before. I'm not sure if this is due to the effects of the sleeping pack, but I'm sure it has been doing beneficial stuff to my skin.

Pros:
-light yet hydrating and makes skin soft
-does brighten skin temporarily
-smells amazing

Cons:
-may not be enough for the winter or dry season/climate

Score
4/5 (because it is just not enough for winter skin but good for spring/summer skin)

Review: Guerlain Liquid Eyeliner

Guerlain's liquid eyeliner comes packed in a luxurious black box, and promises to be long lasting. From my experience, it does prove to be long lasting and opaquely pigmented, but tends to flake if I dont use a primer. My experience with this eyeliner has been positive overall, but I find that it takes a long time to dry (around 1 minute) and will smudge if I open my eyes before letting the liner dry completely.  I find that when i apply a lose powder over it will prolong the wear even more.

The packaging of the bottle is luxurious, and its long ergonomic handle makes lining easier.   I usually shake the glass bottle before application.

As you can see, the brush is really soft and fine. It would take a little bit of practice to master, and it is able to draw both fine and bold lines.

Swatched on my hand, a variety of thicknesses can be achieved using this liner. I usually use this liner when I want to draw a thin, natural looking eyeline, but dramatic cat eyes are also easily created by using this liner. The color is deep and black, very intense and opaque.

Pros:
-Opaque

-Long lasting
-Can create a variety of thicknesses

Cons:

-May flake
-May not be the best for eye-lining beginners

Who may like it?

-Anyone who wants a long lasting and pigmented liquid eyeliner.

Score
4.5/5

Review: Anna Sui Moisturizing Gel Cream

I will be doing a series of post on Anna Sui skincare. :)  All of them have the iconic Anna Sui rose fragrance and I find that if you use them together in the set, they function a LOT better as opposed to combining with other brands.

Moisturizing Gel Cream Review

The Gel Cream comes in a light texture and is pretty moisturizing. I find that using it along with the serum really improves the benefits of this cream. It helps lock in moisturize and makes skin plump at the same time. It did help with my dry sensitive skin and it is a product that I would repurchase.

As you can see, I am almost finished with this cream. It comes in a transparent gel form and I think that it is suitable for all seasons.

Pro:
-moisturizing
-light

Cons:
-none that i can think of :)

Who would want this?
Anyone who needs a light yet moisturizing cream!

Intensive Moisturize Serum Review

The intensive moisturize serum is the most effective product in the line, in my opinion. It instantly moisturizes my face and leaves it feeling soft. I managed to get through the dry winter without getting dry patches with the use of this serum, so I really recommend it. During the summer time, this can manage to be my night moisturizer, I just use tonner and this, without using another layer of cream on top

It comes with a pump applicator and one pump is enough for my whole face. This serum only takes a few seconds to dry and doesn't feel sticky, despite how moisturizing it is. Again, it has the cute package that matches with the whole Anna Sui skincare line.

Pros:
-VERY moisturizing

Cons:
-none that I can think of :)

Who may like this?
Anyone who wants an intensive moisturizing serum. It really does help with dry skin!

Moisturizing Lotion Review
The moisturizing lotion is actually a tonner, despite the name of lotion.  It comes out as a clear liquid, and I place a few drops of it onto a cotton pad and wipe all over my face. It has a lovely packaging, but I only see a minimal effect of when I use and dont use this.

This is how the opening of the bottle looks like. It has a dropper which helps control the amount of product that drops out. Usually a 2-3 drops is enough for my whole face.

Pros:
-Pleasant scent
-Does make skin a little bit softer after continued use

Cons:
- Effects are minimal

Who may like it:
- Somone who wants a cutely packaged rose scented toner

Score:
3/5

Review: NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is an eye primer/ eyeshadow base which helps intensify the color of eye makeup and staying power of it. It is my absolute favourite eye primer and I notice a big difference on times when I use this and when I dont.  I usually apply this onto my eyelids after my base makeup routine (foundation, concealer, loose powder) and then start to pile the eye makeup on top of it. Only a tiny amount of primer is required for each eye and too much would actually have a negative effect! (Remember to use in moderation!!)

Not only is this primer not sticky, it also helps to create a smooth canvas for what ever eye makeup you would apply. I find that when I wait 30 seconds after I apply it, the primer is fully dry and really makes my makeup last all day and look as it has been freshly applied. Eyeshadows instantly become more pigmented when I wear this primer and I have not noticed any creasing at all!!

It comes out white but once you blend it, it will be invisible.

WOW! The diference is amazing!! The top is without this primer and the bottom is! You can see how much more vibrant and pigmented the color is! I have worn my

Pros:
-Keeps eye makeup looking fresh and crease free
-Makes colors more vibrant
-Pro-longs the wear of makeup
-Smooths out eye area
-Non-sticky

Cons:
-From my experience, none! :D

Who may like it?
-Anyone who wants longer lasting and more vibrant eye makeup!

Score:
5/5

Review: Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Cleansing Foam

(image taken from official shiseido website)

The weather has been getting warmer and spring is approaching. Usually, I like to use brightening products during the warmer seasons as I will get exposed to the sun more. Brightening products help even skin tone and prevent the formation of  sun spots and are a great aid for getting rid of scars too.

While searching for a brightening cleanser, I found a sample sized 30ml version of Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Cleansing Foam as a gift with purchase from a few months ago, which I only started using last week.. As the season gets warmer, my skin does tend to get a little bit more oily so a foaming cleanser is perfect. I have been using this as my night cleanser on days in which I dont have makeup on. I usually squeeze a pea sized amount onto a bowl and then use a cleansing brush to beat it up into a foam and apply to my face, like how they taught me at the shiseido counter. It really foams up when I use this method  but not so much when I just rub the cleanser between my hands then apply to my face.

The cleanser does leave a drying sensation, but did not give me any patches or spots. I usually apply toner and moisturizer after cleansing. I did notice that my pores got smaller and fewer blackheads after using this cleanser but I dont really see the brightening effects, just yet.

Pros:
-Foams up a LOT
-fewer blackheads and smaller pores, fewer breakouts

Cons:
-drying sensation after cleansing

Who may like this?
Anyone who wants smaller pores, fewer blackheads and a foaming cleanser

Score
4/5
